The Field Club of Fuengirola offers two walks a week, with routes to suit different fitness levels for just €15 a year.

Residents looking to discover more of inland Malaga Province are being invited to join the Field Club of Fuengirola, a walking group that combines outdoor exercise with the chance to make new friends.

Just a short drive from the Costa del Sol’s busy resorts, the countryside offers rivers, farmland, forests and hills to explore on foot. The club organises two walks each week, with different distances and levels of difficulty to suit a range of abilities.

People with a reasonable level of fitness and suitable footwear should be able to find a route that suits them, whether they are keen walkers or simply want to spend more time outdoors.

Explore Andalucia for €15 a year

Annual membership costs just €15, giving walkers an affordable way to discover the landscapes beyond the coast while enjoying the company of other members.

Those interested in joining can sign up through the club’s website at thefieldclub.org, or come along to meet members at one of its monthly coffee mornings.

Where to meet the Field Club

The coffee mornings take place on the first Monday of every month in Los Boliches, close to the train station. Visitors should look for the Tenencia de Alcaldia building, which also houses the local market. The group meets upstairs in the cafeteria between 10.30am and 11.30am. It is an opportunity to find out more about the walks, ask questions about the routes and meet some of the people who take part before deciding to join.

The club’s motto sums up its approach: “Where walkers make friends and friends go walking.”

For anyone living on the Costa del Sol who would like to get out into the countryside, enjoy regular exercise and expand their social circle, the Field Club of Fuengirola is inviting them to take the first step.
