Dénia’s annual Associations Fair returned to the town centre on Saturday, October 17, bringing 43 non-profit organisations together to showcase their work and connect with residents.
Held along Carrer del Marqués de Campo from 10am to 8pm, the event offered visitors an opportunity to discover the charities, community groups and associations working across Dénia and the surrounding Marina Alta area.
Local organisations take centre stage
Organised by Dénia Town Hall, the fair has been held annually since 2013 and provides a public platform for organisations to explain their activities, raise awareness of their causes and introduce themselves to potential supporters.
The participating groups represented a range of local interests, with information stands allowing residents to learn more about their work and the opportunities available to get involved.
Community fairs such as this also help smaller organisations reach people who may not otherwise know about the services, activities and support they provide.
For the participating associations, the gathering offered a chance to increase their visibility, meet other groups and strengthen their links with the local community.
Workshops and live performances
Alongside the information stands, the programme included workshops and public performances designed to make the fair an engaging event for visitors of different ages.
Activities featured batucada percussion demonstrations, traditional folk dancing and displays of juggling and balancing skills.
The varied programme brought together community participation and entertainment, encouraging people to explore the stands while enjoying the performances taking place throughout the day.
The event also highlighted the contribution made by non-profit organisations to the social and cultural life of Dénia and the wider Marina Alta.
An annual community meeting point
The Associations Fair has become an established date in Dénia’s local calendar, giving organisations a dedicated space to introduce their work directly to the public.
By bringing 43 groups together in one central location, the event made it easier for residents to find out about the different initiatives operating in the area and discover ways to support them.
The use of Marqués de Campo, one of Dénia’s central streets, placed the fair in a prominent town-centre setting, accessible to residents and visitors going about their weekend activities.
The October 17 gathering continued a tradition that began in 2013, reinforcing the town hall’s role in providing opportunities for local associations to share their work and engage with the public.
With information stands, practical workshops and live demonstrations combined in a single event, the fair celebrated the organisations and volunteers helping to shape community life in Dénia and the surrounding region.
