Pumpkins, monster-themed burgers and a little spooky creativity. Nerja’s youngest residents have a scary reason to look forward to this weekend to get them in the mood for Halloween.
Las Protegidas residents’ association are organising two afternoons of children’s Halloween workshops on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24. Pumpkin-themed activities and monstrous hamburgers will bring a spooky seasonal twist to the neighbourhood’s plans.
Halloween workshops bring children together in Nerja
The programme is all about the youngsters, with the association choosing two familiar favourites as the inspiration for its activities. Pumpkins offer the classic Halloween touch, and monster-themed burgers add a playful modern food twist.
Parents looking for a children’s activity this weekend may welcome the chance to swap an afternoon of finding entertainment at home for a neighbourhood celebration doing something creative, with a little silliness and an excuse to spend time together.
British residents unfamiliar with the organiser may find the name useful to know. An asociacion de vecinos is a residents’ association or local community group, and Las Protegidas is the Nerja neighbourhood behind these plans.
Events like these are a great way for families to get to know the area outside their usual school run or shopping trip. Here, the focus stays firmly on children and their chance to enjoy some Halloween fun.
How to book your child’s place
Friday’s “Personalise your pumpkin” workshop runs from 6.30pm to 8pm on October 23, giving children the chance to let their imaginations loose and turn a Halloween favourite into their own creation.
Saturday brings a spooky twist to the kitchen, with a monster burger workshop from 5.30pm to 7pm on October 24. Food and fun are on the menu as youngsters get creative with the Halloween theme.
Both activities take place at the Las Protegidas residents’ association headquarters located at Calle Cristo, number 113. Places are limited, so advance booking is required.
Families can request further information and register their children by sending a WhatsApp message to 669 391 691.
