Home bakers are being challenged to whisk up their favourite creations for a new charity competition on the Orihuela Costa. Wee Rock Bar Cafe 2 will host its first charity baking competition on Sunday, November 29, with cakes sold after judging to raise money for Finca Villamartin – Happy Animales Spain and the animals it supports.
Bakers invited to enter charity competition
Bakers are being invited to put their cake-making skills to the test while raising money for animals in need on the Orihuela Costa.
The Wee Rock Bar Cafe 2 will hold its first charity baking competition on Sunday, November 29, from 2:30 PM in support of Finca Villamartin – Happy Animales Spain.
Home bakers can enter free of charge by making their favourite cake and bringing it along on the day.
There is no set entry fee, giving amateur bakers the opportunity to join the competition while helping the local animal charity.
Prizes awarded to the best cakes
The creations will be judged by Tina, head chef at Wee Rock Cafe 2, with prizes for first, second and third place.
Once the judging is over, the cakes will be sold to raise funds to help care for animals supported by the charity.
The competition therefore gives every entry a second purpose once the winners have been decided, with slices helping to add to the day’s fundraising total.
Raffle and buffet add to afternoon
You don’t need to enter the competition to join the afternoon, with visitors welcome to come along for cake, a raffle and a buffet.
Anyone wanting the buffet will need to pay a €5 deposit when booking.
Organisers hope the combination of the competition, cake sale, raffle and buffet will attract plenty of supporters as well as those keen to show off their baking skills.
Cake entries and tables can be reserved
Cake entries, tables and buffet places can be reserved by WhatsApp on (+34) 616 792 355.
Bakers can also register at the Happy Animales charity shop at Calle Republica Dominicana 5C, Villamartin, next to Madhouse.
Organisers hope plenty of amateur bakers will rise to the challenge, with every cake helping to raise a little more for animals in need.
