THE Ministry of Public Works will consider paying the lighting bills for the A-7 motorway in Mijas.
This follows a proposal made in January by the local mayor, Angel Nozal, to the Minister of Public Works, Ana Pastor, which has been responded with the promise to “study the request with interest”.
The town hall had previously been paying €400 per day for lighting on the motorway which belongs to the ministry.
Since January, only one lane has been lit after the town hall went back on its decision to plunge the 20 kilometres which run through municipal limits into darkness, due to the danger for drivers.
