4,500 packs cigarettes seized in La Linea

A DRIVER was arrested after police at La Linea de la Concepcion found 4,500 packets of cigarettes in his car.

The vehicle was stopped as it drove through Atunara port in a random check carried by a Guardia Civil customs and border unit.

Opening the boot of the car, officers discovered several bags containing cigarette packets.

Finding that they lacked the necessary tax seal, the driver was arrested on contraband charges and the cigarettes impounded.
