Woman, 70, kicked in face while sunbathing

A WOMAN, 70, lost consciousness for four minutes and had to undergo an emergency operation to her fractured cheekbone after she was kicked in the face.

She was sunbathing on Playa de Palma in s’Arenal at the time and was an innocent bystander to an incident which took place near her.

Some German tourists were arguing over the purchase of sunglasses from a ‘looky looky’ man around 4.30pm Friday.

One of them kicked an information board various times.

Another, a 28-year-old man allegedly turned towards the elderly woman lying on the beach and kicked her hard in the head.

Officers contacted the German group who let them know where they could find the man believed responsible for the woman’s injuries.

They arrested him in his hotel room.
