A BRITISH man has been found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend in Orihuela in May 2009.
As reported in last week’s issue 1406, the 24-year-old Irish victim was stabbed 53 times at Alan Mathew Daulby’s apartment at an aparthotel on Urbanization Aguamarina.
She had gone to the apartment to ask him to stop pursuing and bothering her, which he had reportedly done since she broke-up with him.
Daulby, now 27, testified that he had taken LSD for the first time that night, been drinking, and had mistaken her for a burglar.
Although sentence has yet to be passed, the prosecution has asked for a 20 year prison sentence and compensation of €80,000 for Avril Louise Flanagan’s parents and €35,000 for her brother.
