IN La Herradura a sign that states ‘No Fishing and Spear Fishing’ has been violated.
In Spain, fishing requires permits, whether it is being done from the beach, off a boat or in natural parks, however the sign no appears to allow fishing.
In La Herradura there are also those who go net fishing off the beach and because they are fishing so close to the shore, all they catch are juveniles, which is banned.
Just last weekend, while out diving on a course, we came across a 4×3 metre meet, so upon seeing trapped fish still alive, I took my knife and set to freeing the fish before taking away the entire net and binning it on shore.
But how long will these acts be allowed to go on?
