THOUSANDS of visitors flooded into the Avenida Augusta show site to enjoy the three day annual International Festival staged in Javea last week.
This demonstration of the importance of international relations to the town council was supported by the attendance of all government members led by Mayor Jose Chulvi who launched the event with a few chosen words accompanied by his trademark beaming smile. Over 20 countries were represented at the Festival, filling all three days with music, dance and mountains of ethnic food, underlying the incredible wealth of cultures shared around the world.
Peruvian hats, Indonesian natives and England’s presentation of the 2012 Olympics formed a small part of the variety of displays exhibited in the tents, which were competing with outdoor entertainment including Italian acrobatic demonstrations of Pizza making and especially for the kids, a flying visit from the USA’s Ronald McDonald.
