Helping hand for coma victim’s young family

MEDIA friends of reporter Louise Clarke are joining forces to raise money for her family as Louise battles a mystery illness.

Louise has been in intensive care for a month after collapsing, and remains unconscious at Torrevieja Hospital.

Her hospitalisation has left husband Lee to juggle hospital visits and try to keep life as normal as possible for their children and he is therefore unable to work

As a reporter Louise has commented on, and fought on behalf of the local community, on a number of issues from dodgy housing developers, poor sewerage systems to the provision of a coastal nursery school.

In a year-long sabbatical Louise worked at Playa Flamenca Town Hall and continued to champion causes for foreign residents.

Now the community has an opportunity to give something back to Louise and her family by attending the fundraiser.

The Christmas Glitter Ball for Lou event will be held at The Emerald Isle, La Florida, on Wednesday, December 12, from 7.30pm and has been organised by media friends and colleagues.

It will feature local performers including Nick Gold and Suzy G, all of whom are giving their time free. Money will also be raised through a raffle, with all prizes donated by local businesses.

All funds raised will be donated to Lee to help support the family over the festive period.

Tickets are on sale priced  €3 by calling 637 456 781.
