Home assigned to help family
A MARRIED couple – both unemployed with two children – were chosen by Eulogio Carmona to live rent-free at his second home in Vera for two years, having already moved in.
The couple, Alvaro and Yolanda, are both 31 years old with a five-year-old daughter and a 17-month-old baby previously lived in Granada but their financial situation prevented them from keeping up-to-date with mortgage payments. Luckily, Alvaro has managed to settle the debt with the bank when the institution retook the property. He used to work in the catering sector but has been unemployed for a year, while Yolanda has been jobless for four or five years.
Out of the four aspiring families to move into Carmona’s offered home, two were ruled out because they could not even afford paying for the water, electricity and community, a requirement made by Carmona, who said of his decision “I think I have guessed correctly; my wife and I are very happy to have sorted out this family’s life for two years or whatever they may take to find jobs.”
