ART COMP: Creative times at Quesada Country Club.
THE red kitchen won hands down with its offer of chicken curry and rice in a ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ style competition held at the Quesada Country Club.
Jennie Blair-Hipkin beat the green team’s London pie, mash and green liquor.
For those with a sweet tooth a cake competition was also held won by Jennie and Martelle. The day’s event was to help raise funds for the Children’s Home in Elche with over €250 hoping to be made to take the recent fundraising total by Quesada Country Club to €1,000.
The day also incorporated an art show for local artists of all levels from novices to professionals, judged by reputed teachers and artists.
Artist Ronen Zlotogoura was awarded first place in the professional advanced category for his ‘pink Cadillac.’ He said: “It was really an honour that the judges appreciated my work. This encouragement has enthused me to get back to the studio and continue painting.”
