The Secretary General of the UGT (General Workers Union), Cándido Méndez has given the UGT-A, their delegation in Andalucia, until January 9 to explain irregularities in the accounts. There will be an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee to ‘debate and analise the situation.’
Francisco Fernández Sevilla, Secretary General of the UGT-A since last April, has said he will not resign, despite various potential corruption charges hanging over his head. Some people who signed a petition calling for his resignation through change.org have declared that they have since received pressure from the management of the UGT.
