LA NUCIA LIBRARY: Mayor Bernabe Cano (first right) accompanied by councillors and Pedro Martinez of Seu university.
THE public library at Caravana in La Nucia will remain open 12 hours a day throughout January. Usually the library opens at 9am each weekday, closing at 2pm and reopening at 4pm until 8pm.
Until January 31, the doors will open at 9am and not closed until 9pm so that university students can study for their winter exams, explained La Nucia town hall’s Culture department.
Located in quiet and peaceful surroundings on the CV-70 road, La Nucia residents tend to walk or bike there. The library’s ample parking and a direct link by bicycle lane with Benidorm have also made it popular with out-of-town students.
The 9am to 9pm through-day will be repeated next June and July when students have to take – or resit – their end-of-year exams, the town hall announced.
