Suarez led Spain to democracy following Franco's dictatorship.
Juan Pedro Perez Quiles, spokesperson for the PP in Albox, has petitioned the council to name a street or square after the ex-president in recognition of his contribution to the country.
Quiles commented that Adolfo Suarez was an essential part of the Spanish transition from dictatorship to democracy; his legacy is one of dialogue and core values and as such he deserves a tribute.
Adolfo Suarez was president from 1976 to 1981 and lead Spain through one of its most difficult periods in history.
He legalised political parties and got rid of the Cortes Franquistas which were draconic in their measures.
