Beach Massage: much appreciated by weary tourists. Photo: Flickr Rob W
The number of illegal masseuses on the beaches of Calvia has pushed the council to ask for a license fee of nearly €3,000 from each of them.
The council has now received the necessary permissions from the Govern (Baleares government) and the department of the environment to install a dozen massage stalls on beaches throughout the municipality.
There will be an even distribution to all the beach areas as this service is one of the more appreciated by weary tourists.
The licenses will cost €2,859 and will be valid for one year.
