The highest flat in Spain – which also happens to have been the former home of Italian actress Sophia Loren – is up for sale in Madrid.
The uber glamorous film star stayed in the 32nd-floor apartment in Madrid’s Plaza de España when she was filming El Cid alongside the legendary Charlton Heston in 1960.
The apartment, situated in the Torre de Madrid, which has both flats and commercial premises for sale, is currently being refurbished.
Apartments in the lower half of the building are selling for between €400,000 and €825,000, while the first 10 floors are set to be a five-star hotel.
While staying at the 1950s-built skyscraper, which pioneered luxury living, Sophia Loren enjoyed 24-hour security, a fully-equipped gym, parking, a doorman and other perks.
Loren, an international icon, is Italy’s most-honoured actress. The starlet was the winner of the first Oscar awarded to a foreign-language performance for her role in Two Women in 1962.
