WITH news hitting the headlines last week of the increase in foreign visitors to the Valencia Region, this week it has been revealed how much those tourists spent.
Between January and May, a total of €1.62 billion was spent, 1.2 per cent more than in the same period of 2013. The average spending per visitor rose to €939 with the average stay being nine nights.
The largest amount of tourists originated from the UK and Scandinavia with Russian tourists following.
As the figures were released, the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism announced that it will invest €1.9 million in improving the wireless internet network in the region’s hotels.
