Driver dies after colliding with Torrevieja bus

A DRIVER was killed in Torrevieja after being in collision with a bus.

The accident happened in Avenida Alfredo Nobel at the height of Torre del Moro.

For reasons unknown, the driver of the car, believed to be of Swedish nationality, crossed into the opposite lane, crashing into the side of a bus which was heading towards La Mata. Paramedics were unable to save the driver.

The bus driver and passengers were unhurt.

It was not the only fatal accident to occur in the province on Sunday. A man was walking along the AP-7 motorway in the area of Gata de Gorgos when he was hit by a car heading in the direction of Valencia.

Police are investigating why the man was walking on the motorway.
