Lucia Ayala assistant to Lola Sanchez

PODEMOS’S Lucia Ayala has been named as assistant to MEP Lola Sanchez.

Ayala will join the office in Cartagena, assisting Sanchez in covering Almeria, Murcia, Valencia and the Balearics by organising events and campaigns that promote and raise awareness of the Podemos.

Speaking in Almeria, Lucia Ayala said: “The implementation of the offices of the MEPs is an excellent vehicle for communication between citizens and the European institutions as well as a tool for citizen empowerment that the Podemos pursues.” She added: “This is a democratic milestone of citizen participation that shows how we can do politics differently, since we can work to bring institutions to the public and promote a truly democratic culture because that is our fundamental objective.” The Podemos say that the mission of their 13 offices throughout Spain is to bring the work of MEPs to the area, informing the public of what is happening in European plenary sessions.
