Complex cleanup targets graffiti on historic buildings

THE Provincial Council of Mallorca has authorised cleaning projects to be carried out in the area of the historical military building Baluard del Princep and its surrounding walls.

The different natures of the old buildings in the area present some complications for the cleanup, constructed from a variety of materials that will require specialised cleaning processes in order to preserve them, and not cause further damage.

Six pieces of graffiti are expected to be removed and the project has required the collaboration of an expert restorer, who has ensured that the cleaning work will not be too aggressive for the walls.
