A WINNING lotto ticket for £3 million, bought in Stirling, Scotland, has gone unclaimed in the UK, where lottery players have 180 day in which to claim their prize. Had they come forward in time, the winner would have shared in a quadruple-rollover prize pot from the 17 December draw. The prize – £3,062,272 plus accumulated interest – will now be used to fund National Lottery projects.
A spokesman for the National Lottery, who said they had tried very hard to find the ticket-holder, added that while it was a shame that someone missed out on such a substantial sum of money, the whole nation would benefit from the projects funded by the unclaimed prize.
