Rio Safari Park honours world’s tallest animal

THE Rio Safari Park in Elche has celebrated the second ‘World Giraffe Day’ with a conference sponsored by the Giraffe Conversation Foundation.
Rio Safari was one of 76 parks around the world (three of them from Spain) taking part with the aim of raising awareness that the giraffe population is under threat and to help raise funds for their survival. Throughout the day, visitors participated in various activities, including interacting with the two male giraffes. A female is expected to arrive at Rio Safari soon.
