LONDON’S Royal Botanic Gardens have agreed to allow the UPCT University in Cartagena to use its Millenium Seed Bank facilities for local species conservation projects.Cartagena and the Sierra de las Fausillas are considered one of the most biologically diverse areas in Europe, leading the British institution, which coordinates ENSCONET (European Native Seed Conservation Network) to take an interest in its inclusion in the network.Seeds and native plant species material currently stored in the area will be transferred to the London facilities, where investigators will be allowed to work on their projects.
