THE benefits of the Mediterranean diet will be shown off in an exhibition hosted at Almuñecar’s Casa de la Cultura.Under the title ‘Mediterranean, diet of light and health,’ the display has been organised by Association Against Cancer AECC in Granada, featuring local painters and others from the Granada Province, who have collaborated by donating or lending their paintings for a good cause. All proceeds made from the sale of art pieces will be allocated to fund the social projects that AECC offers at no cost for cancer patients and their families. The exhibition’s goal is to raise awareness of the fact that diet is behind 35 per cent of all cancers, and aims to encourage good nutrition through images. It can be visited between July 1 and 15, from Monday to Friday between 10am and 1.30pm and afternoons between 5pm and 7.30pm.
