Suspected burglars believed to be cause of fire in Motril

A FIRE started at a garage in Calle Comunidad Castilla Leon of Motril caused a fireman and local police officers to be hospitalised due to smoke intoxication.
The fire started at around 5am. Authorities believe that the fire was started on purpose by two young men, who allegedly tried to break into the garage to steal items and have already been remanded to prison.
The Versalles Building was evacuated and police were forced to interrupt traffic in the area because of the amount of smoke.
At around 7am the fire was completely extinguished. Three cars were damaged in the fire but no casualties were registered.
