ENDESA electrical company and Palma fire brigade are running joint sessions this month to work on collaboration in emergency situations.
The first of a series of sessions at Son Malferit fire control centre saw 30 people from the two groups discuss frequent incidents that affect the electrical network, including flooding, fires and fallen trees, and how best to deal with them.
The fire brigade representatives were informed on the technical and human resources the electrical company activates when incidents occur, the safety measures teams apply and details of main parts of the network: lines, substations and transformer centres.
Similar sessions are due to be held every Tuesday and Thursday in July as part of a collaboration agreement between Endesa and Bomberos de Palma.
