SOCIAL SECURITY: Almeria has the most non-EU contributors
THERE were 46,824 non-Spanish contributors to the Social Security system in Almeria in June.The province has the second highest number after Malaga, which has 59,656, and is followed by Huelva (29,759). In Malaga the majority of foreign Social Security contributors come under the general, domestic workers and self-employed categories, unlike Almeria and Huelva where the majority are agricultural workers.Almeria Province heads the list of non-European Union workers, with a total of 30,728 employees who are practically all employed in the agriculture sector.There are currently 1,668,099 foreign workers paying Social Security in Spain, of whom 198,725 live in Andalucia.
