THE Veraplayazul naturist association wants the Garrucha -Vera Playa tourist train to modify its route.Members are weary of the reactions of some passengers as the train crosses the area’s naturist urbanisations.Too often they are jeered at and humiliated as crass tourists play “spot the nudist,” the association complained to the town hall.Municipal sources confirmed that they had received a verbal complaint about the train from a resident in the nudist zone. “We suggested formalising the complaint but he said he was on holiday and didn’t want to waste the time,” the sources claimed. The train makes a dozen journeys a day between the two towns but it does not have to go through the streets where nudists live, claimed Jose Manuel Zamora of the Veraplayazul association.“The train needs only to change its route over the last two kilometres, taking the Villaricos road. It wouldn’t mean any extra cost,” he said.Action will be taken if more complaints are received from the naturists, the same municipal sources revealed. “The town hall regrets that insensitive behaviour should perturb the peaceful coexistence that characterises Vera’s residents and tourists,” they said.
