AN ENDANGERED Bonelli’s eagle has been found in a reservoir in Aulago, Gergal, by a passerby and handed over to the Guardia Civil for care.
Officers from Fiñana were sent to collect the eagle, which was unable to fly due to being soaking wet, undernourished and disorientated, the police force reported.
Seprona nature protection branch officers later took the bird to a veterinary clinic for treatment and reported it would later be delivered to the Environmental Department’s Threatened Species Recovery Centre.
