A MINISTRY report on the plans for Ikea in Alicante has stated that it is not in favour of the proposed Rabasa location, expressing concerns over traffic access.
The government has raised the issue on several occasions in the past and feels that the access problem has not been satisfactorily resolved.
The new regional government is also not completely sold on the plans and the new team in Alicante Town Hall is calling for a halt on the current project for a large shopping complex on the Rabasa site that they fear would be “lethal” for the city’s smaller shopkeepers.
Ikea has now requested a meeting with the regional government.
