FUENGIROLA is jumping back in time to the middle ages this week for its 12th Medieval Market at the Castillo Sohail.
The market, one of the most important in Spain, opened on Wednesday, August 12, and is running until Sunday 16, from 7pm to 2am.
The site, a 10th century Arab fortress, is the perfect backdrop for the market, which has a number of themed activities planned and a not-to-be-missed closing show in the final day.
Workshops for the young and not-so-young will give insights into how things were done at the time, with potters, leather craftsmen, scribes and stonemasons at work and a variety of products available for sale.
Last year almost 90,000 people visited the fair, making it one of the most popular of its type in the country.
