THE Mayor of Calvia, Alfonso Rodriguez, met with Elizabeth Homberg, the President of the RANA Foundation against child abuse.
They discussed methods of collaboration between the council and the foundation so that the departments of Education and Social Services can programme activities to educate children and parents regarding physical and sexual abuse.
The council will meet with local schools to discuss how to proceed and will assume the costs of the programme.
The non-profit foundation aims to prevent abuse towards children and carries out the ¡Grita muy Fuerte! (Shout Very Loud!) programme which teaches them to identify abuse and how to react against it.
