PLANETA WINNER: Mario Vargas Llosa.
BENITACHELL public library is encouraging residents to dip into modern Spanish literature.
It is challenging them to read a book a month with the proviso that the writer has won, or was a finalist in, the Premio Planeta literary prize.
The library has created an index for readers to tick off each finished book, and write a brief commentary to serve as a guide and encouragement to the next reader. There is a surprise reward for those who read all 12.
There are 28 books to choose from by leading authors, who include the 2010 Nobel prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa. More details are available at the municipal library or the biblioteca@elpoblenoudebenitatxell.org email address.
