SA COMA: Eroski hypermarket bought by Carrefour.
EROSKI has sold two hypermarkets in Mallorca to Carrefour to concentrate more on its other supermarkets.
The two hypermarkets located in Sa Coma and Son Cotoner were sold with the condition that current employees would not lose their jobs. In a statement from Eroski, the operation is part of the strategic plan of the company to strengthen its business priorities and develop a renewed network of urban supermarkets. Eroski now has 198 supermarkets in the Balearic Islands in addition to its online service.
Eroski’s general director of commercial network Rosa Carabel stressed that the Balearics is a priority for the company and that throughout the year the company would progressively remodel the existing network of supermarkets to its new business model.
