PRESIDENT of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has promised to bring terrorism “to its knees” after the attack in the capital has killed at least 36 people.
The suicide car bomb went off at the busy Guven Park, transport hub also injured more than 100 people. One car bomber is said to have died.
Targets in Iraq, part of the Kurdish rebel PKK (Kurdistan workers party), have now been bombed by Turkish planes, whoit is suspected were responsible for the attack.
Airstrikes on 18 targets were carried out by 11 warplanes.
Rebels from Kurdistan have already carried out a number of attacks on Turkish soil in recent months leading to security forces raiding Kurdish regions. Ankara has also suffered attacks from Daesh recently in Ankara.
The investigation is due to conclude Monday 14 and an official statement made with who is responsible.
Turkey is involved in the bombing campaign against Syrian Kurdish fighters and is part of the US led coalition against Daesh which allows the use of its airbase in Incirlik for attacks on Iraq and Syria.
