BEACH BARBECUE: Prohibited for flames to make contact with the sand.
IT is now possible to request permission for barbecues and nocturnal moragas on the beaches of Velez-Malaga from May 1 to September 30.
An online application form is available on the website of the town hall, and a response will be dispatched via SMS within 72 hours.
The message will also be used as proof in the event that police verification is required.
Barbecues are to be permitted on five beaches and it remains prohibited for flames to make direct contact with sand, rocks, or stones, meaning the fire should be enclosed in a suitable container.
The authorised individual is entirely responsible for cleaning up and leaving the beach in a perfect state of cleanliness and conservation.
