Meteorologist Liberté Chan before covering her (apparently) skimpy dress.
A LIVE broadcast on Los Angeles-based local news station KTLA was interrupted as the news anchor Chris Burrous’ disembodied arm appeared from the side of the screen clutching a cardigan, after viewers supposedly complained about the dress sported by weather presenter Liberte Chan.
“You want me to put this on?” she asked. “Why? Because it’s cold?”
“We’re getting a lot of emails,” replied an off-camera male voice, to which Ms Chan exclaimed: “What, really?”
The clip soon went viral, and has sparked discussion about sexism in the workplace, with many online commentators criticising the network.
Ms Chan later wrote a blog post defending the channel, claiming she was not under orders to put the cardigan on, and that she was simply ‘playing along with my co-anchor’s joke.’
