A BRITISH family living on Mallorca has launched a desperate appeal for their 11-year-old daughter, who suffers from leukaemia.
Serena Maria Chappell was born in Spain and attends the CEIP Nicolau Calafat school in Valldemossa.
She is being treated at the Son Espases Hospital in Palma de Mallorca, which does not have enough blood of her type.
The school is now working in collaboration with the Balearic blood bank [Banc de Sang y Teixits de Balears] in order to find type O negative blood plasma and platelets for her.
Anyone able to help with a donation should visit the hospital any Thursday from 8.30am to 3pm, or call the blood bank on 971 76 44 33.
See the blood bank website for more information.
