St Michael’s Cave to host one of the giants of jazz rock fusion

HM Government of Gibraltar

Guitar maestro Al DI Meola

AS part of the annual Gibraltar Jazz Festival, one of the most influential artists of jazz rock fusion, Al Di Meola will be performing inside St Michael’s Cave in November.

At the age of 19 he joined Chick Corea’s  Return to Forever playing guitar alongside a number of truly pioneering musicians before leaving to release his own highly successful solo albums and also forming temporary super groups with such distinguished guitarists as Paco de Lucia, John McLaughlin and Larry Coryell.

Also appearing on the same bill will be Matt Bianco and Band, fronted by singer Mark Reilly as there is no such person as Matt Bianco, a character created by the original band in 1982.

This interesting concert takes place on Friday November 10 and tickets cost £40 with reserved seating only at www.buytickets.gi

Other events featuring local musicians will be announced nearer to the date of the Festival.
