AN 11-year-old boy has died after falling into a glass door while playing with his brother. The tragic accident happened at the family home in Valencia on Sunday afternoon. The Spanish youngsters were reportedly left alone for just minutes while their parents unpacked shopping and collected a takeaway when the schoolboy was fatally wounded in the stomach by a large shard of broken glass. His 10-year-old sibling suffered superficial injuries to his arm. National Police sources confirmed the incident occurred when the children each collided with the door, and indicated that while they are investigating the circumstances, it ‘all points to what is an accident’. The younger boy ran to alert his father, and the emergency services were called. Two police officers reportedly tried to stem the bleeding and performed the first resuscitation manoeuvers when the child went into cardiorespiratory arrest. A medical team managed to stabilise the boy who was then transferred to the Hospital La Fe de Valencia, where he is said to have died later.
