JUST three weeks after bagging a third Michelin star, celebrated chef Dani Garcia has thrown in the towel at his Marbella restaurant and will present a daily breakfast show on Spanish TV.
Garcia will take over from the popular Torres brothers in March with his own TVE program for La 1, which will be produced by Shine Iberia, the company behind Masterchef.
Announcing his decision on social media, Garcia said he had ‘gathered his team to announce an important decision, that 2019 will be the last season of Dani Garcia the Restaurant’.
He added that ‘having reached this dream, I will take my vision of the gastronomy of Andalucia to all corners and audiences of the world’.
With more than 20 years’ experience, Garcia became the first chef in Malaga to get three Michelin stars, and only the second in Andalucia.
