Gibraltar Airport often wrongly described as one of the most dangerous airports in the world. It is unusual, though, as the runway is dissected by a road that is closed as aircraft land and take off.
If aircraft encounter low visibility or crosswinds on the approach they are routinely diverted to Malaga Airport and passengers are transferred to Gibraltar Airport by coach.
