SPANISH police have arrested two people accused of selling stolen rental cars.
Officers from the Guardia Civil are also investigating eight others on suspicion of fraud, document misrepresentation, misappropriation, and organised crime, after ten cars stolen from Germany were allegedly sold in Madrid and Leon.
Under ‘Operation Palca,’ police began investigating after an inspection at a second-hand car dealership in Alcala de Henares, Madrid, where they reportedly found one of the cars had been reported stolen in Germany.
The Guardia Civil claimed it later discovered a link between the vehicle and a group of Romanians living in Arganda del Rey, Madrid, who had allegedly registered and sold 10 cars in Spain in a short space of time.
Police said the cars, totalling €259,410, had been stolen from Friesland in Germany.
