DAVID ARQUES, a 14-year-old from Alfaz, was killed when he fell downstairs on a school trip to Granada.
For reasons that have still have to be clarified, he died after falling on the stairs of the hotel where he and his classmates were staying.
David was a relative of Alfaz’s mayor Vicente Arques and belonged to the CB TerrAlfas basketball team, where his father is the trainer and where he had played since he was a child.
The news of the tragic accident came as a shock in Alfaz and the local basketball teams where David was well-known and well-liked.
