In recent months, local authorities have been finding examples of poisoned baits, designed to kill or injure the cities dogs, cats and pigeons.
Pieces of meat laced with rat poison and animal treats with embedded hooks have all been found in the cities urban districts, most predominantly in areas of San Nicolas de Bari, Avenidas Park, Olleria Street and Plaza Pio XII.
The Department of Health and Animal Protection has urged the local police to investigate to find the people responsible for the acts.
If found guilty, according to the Spanish Penal Code, a person can be sentenced to up to 2 years in prison.
