Vodafone announces the launch of 5G technology across its network in Spain, marking a giant leap in phone and internet speeds. ANTONIO COIMBRA, the President and CEO of Vodafone Spain, will announce today (Monday 10th) the details of the roll out but the news will mean the phone giant will be the first operator in Spain to offer the high speed service. 5G technology offers speeds and network capabilities up to 100 times higher than existing 4G networks, with much lower latencies and the ability to connect up to one million devices per square kilometre at the same time. Spain was initially slow on the uptake of 4G technologies but has promised to be at the sharp end when it comes to launching the new standard. Initial reports suggest the first cities to receive the upgrade are Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Bilbao, Malaga, Valencia, Zaragoza, Vigo and La Coruna. More news will be revealed at the official launch.
