A SWIMMER has drowned at the Las Gaviotas beach in the Costa del Sol town of Benalmadena at about noon today.
He is the second drowning victim at the beach in the course of two weeks.
Members of the public alerted emergency services that there was a man who appeared to be in trouble and could not get out of the sea.
A jet-ski was used by lifeguards to bring him to shore where he was given artificial resuscitation. Reports suggest he was initially revived but died soon afterwards.
Local police, National Police and medics all attended. National Police are now investigating the incident.
A 32-year-old man died on the same beach on July 1.
