Brit woman held over alleged false rape claims in Cyprus

CYPRIOT police officers have arrested a 19-year-old British woman in connection with alleged false rape claims at the Ayia Napa resort town.

Investigators said 12 Israelis arrested over the allegations have now been released. All the detainees denied the allegations.

Police spokesperson Christos Andreou said the 19-year-old would appear in court tomorrow (Monday).

Britain’s Foreign Office has confirmed it is assisted a woman and her family after the arrest.
